Bold Spring Blouse by LEANI

If you know me well, you know that I love neutrals.  Everything from my wardrobe, to my apartment, to my dishware are neutral colors like black, gray, or tan.  Occasionally, I try to step outside of the box and that's what I did when I ordered this bold, red balloon sleeve top from LEANI.  This reminds me of the peasant tops I used to wear as a teen, but with a more contemporary upgrade.  This blouse is very comfortable and could be great for work or a night out with the girls.  It does run wide, but I don't mind that when it's paired with skinny jeans.  You could also tuck in the front of the shirt for a more slimming look.  The shirt is available in burgundy (pictured), black, or green.

I paired the top with one of my favorite pairs of GUESS jeans.  I discovered these jeans on a rainy day while on vacation in Florida with my husband when he suggested we check out the luxury outlet mall.  I had never bought a pair of GUESS jeans before, but I quickly fell in love when I tried them on.  I rarely wear jeans because I struggle to find pairs that fit just right and are also comfortable (read, "stretch like leggings").  This pair is a cotton-spandex blend that has a curvy fit, meaning they're skinny through the legs but not too tight through your thighs or hips.  They are also mid-rise which means they don't make your torso disappear if you tuck something in, yet they don't slide down when you sit.  If you've never tried GUESS denim, I'd recommend giving them a try.  They currently have their Limited Time Spring Event sale running.

Finally, I put on my FAVORITE pair of ankle boots.  I've had these shoes for over two years and the heels are completely worn, but I have not found another shoe to even come close when it comes to comfort and versatility.  These boots are Simply Vera from Kohls.  While this exact style is no longer available, I have linked a similar style below.

Side note:  One of the bright sides of being quarantined at home is that Molly, my not so cuddly kitten, has become more and more loving.  Twice today she actually came up and sat in my lap (though each time lasted only a few minutes).  She brought some much needed joy to a stressful work video chat where we were drafting our remote learning plan since Chicago Public Schools are currently closed through April 30.  What small moments of joy have you been cherishing during these challenging times?

Hey All You Cool Cats and Kittens

Okay, so we finally jumped in and binge watched  Tiger King .  I want thank Carole Baskin (who definitely killed her husband) for reigniting my love of animal prints.  I've always been a big fan of leopard print, but I just recently snagged this leopard print puff sleeve fleece sweatshirt from Express.  I love this shirt because it's comfy for working from home and dressy enough for video meetings with students and parents.  I paired it with the Kinsley necklace from Park Lane and my Spanx faux leather leggings.
